Fetty Wap performed in New Jersey for the first time since his release from federal custody, taking the stage Saturday night at a sold‑out Wellmont Theater in Montclair.

Fans lined the block for hours, eager to see the Paterson native perform again.

“I got here since the morning,” one fan said. “I’ve been waiting since the morning.”

The rapper, known for hits like "Trap Queen" and "1738," drew longtime supporters from across the state.

“I’ve been a fan since 2015 or 2016,” one concertgoer said, while another added they’ve followed Fetty Wap since high school.

Fans arrived wearing merchandise, carrying handmade posters, and hoping for a personal moment with the artist.

“I feel like it’s really good that he’s from New Jersey,” one fan said. “We don’t have a lot of artists from here. So it’s nice to see him doing his thing.”

Several attendees told News 12 they separate the artist from his legal troubles.

“I think people are capable of doing bad things without being bad people,” one fan said.

“The art and the artist are separate. We’re here for the music,” another fan added.

Saturday’s show was part of a limited tour for Fetty Wap. The rapper has several additional dates scheduled in the coming weeks.
